- Surgeon and Surgical Assistant fees
- Anaesthetist fees
- Perioperative Physician fees
- Onsite Radiology costs (I-MED Radiology Network)
- Inpatient Pathology fees (Melbourne Pathology)
- Inpatient Pharmacy charges (Slade Pharmacy)
What is not covered?
Excess and co-payment charges
Medibank customers may still be required to pay an excess or co-payment or may be subject to policy exclusions depending on the level of cover they hold.
Medibank customers are encouraged to check their policy terms for details and contact Medibank’s Customer Health Support Team on 1300 733 338 with any questions.
Other Exceptions
While Medibank customers with eligible hospital cover are generally not expected to haveout-of- pocket costs for hospital services received at Adeney Private, some exceptions apply.
Out of pocket expenses may still arise, these might include the following:
- services not covered by a patient’s specific hospital insurance policy
- in some instances of re-admission
- treatment deemed to be cosmetic and not medically necessary
- prostheses not included on the Governments Prescribed List
- for some non-PBS drugs
- any ancillary costs such as car parking or personal laundry
To avoid unexpected costs, the treating doctor and the hospital will provide informed financial consent to the patient prior to an admission.
