Louise Shardey (nee O’Connor)
CEO & Director of Clinical Operations
Louise is the CEO of choice by the doctors to lead this new venture.
Louise has worked in health service and clinical services management for the past 26 years. She worked in the public system for 11 years in various roles with a focus on operational management of clinical services.
Louise worked for a large private healthcare organization for 13 years, in a variety of roles including Director Clinical Services, Executive Director Clinical Services and as Executive Director.
Louise’s passion is for clinical safety, patient outcomes, exceptional patient experience, staff engagement and leading health services in the provision of excellence. She has a keen interest in the use of clinical technology and innovation to improve efficiency, outcomes and assist staff to reduce error and increase productive time at the bedside
Dr Sherryl Wagstaff
Medical Director
Sherryl is a practising Otorhinolaryngologist (ENT Surgeon). She has previously been Head of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Services at Eastern Health, and was Director of Medical Services at a not for profit hospital for 5 years.
She has taken on the role of Director of Medical Services at Adeney Private Hospital, to again work with Louise O’Connor to provide a collegiate, balanced interaction between all clinical staff and administration.
Dean Alex
CFO
Dean Alex joined Adeney Private in April 2022 as the Chief Financial Officer.
Dean is a Chartered Accountant that has worked internationally in both London and Hong Kong and has held senior financial roles in large international professional services firms in the field of architecture and legal practice
Dean has over 30 years experience and has held senior financial positions in the Australian Private Healthcare sector for over 18 years. Prior to joining Adeney Private, Dean was the CFO at Torrens Health a privately owned company providing nursing and home care services across Australia with turnover in excess, of $200m. Prior to this, Dean spent 18 years as Finance manager and controller of two of Australia’s largest Healthcare networks. In both these roles he played a key role in expansion of new hospitals across Australia.
Walter Schwaighofer
Director of Support Services
Walter has worked in the non clinical field of hospital operations for the past 20 years.
He is a qualified chef by trade and experienced operations manager of hospital facilities, engineering, food services, cleaning and orderly functions.
Walter has experience in previous greenfield hospital sites and understands the nuances and regulations of what is behind the walls that enables a hospital to function. The executive team welcome him back with (very) open arms.
Carla Williams
Business Development Manager
With nearly 30 years of expertise in medical sales, marketing and business development, Carla has cultivated a comprehensive understanding of both the private healthcare and pharmaceutical market sectors.
Her career spans diverse environments in healthcare, including public and private hospitals, specialist and general doctor practice, cosmetic medicine, IVF and fertility medicine. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of private healthcare, enhanced by a strong business development and marketing acumen.

committed to establishing an exciting new service for private healthcare in Australia.
