Patients WITH Private Health Insurance

Like any hospital, you will need to have insurance that covers your procedure. Your surgeon will give you an item number/s and you can check with your insurance company to ensure that you have the appropriate level of cover.
It is important that you are aware of what your policy covers you for.
You will need to provide your health fund with the procedure item number/s that your surgeon has given you in order to check if your policy will cover the costs of your treatment.
Private Health Insurance Excess:
If you have chosen a policy with an excess, this will need to be paid before your hospital admission, as it would at any hospital. Please check your policy with regards to this.
Zero Out of Pocket Costs at Adeney Private Hospital:
Adeney Private Hospital is Australia’s first and only zero out of pocket hospital. This means that for private health insurers who have a zero out of pocket Contract with Adeney Private Hospital, their inpatient members will NOT receive any extra bills across entire hospital services-all inpatient costs are covered.

- All Surgical assistant costs
- All Anaesthetist costs
- All Perioperative Physician costs
- All onsite Radiology costs (at I-MED Radiology network)
- All inpatient Pathology costs (Melbourne Pathology)
- All inpatient Pharmacy costs (at onsite Slade pharmacy)
- All inpatient Physiotherapy (where appropriate)
- Pre-admission and post-surgical rehabilitation services where appropriate.
At present, zero out of pockets costs are available to MEDIBANK PRIVATE and BUPA members.
